Terms of Use
Last updated: 30 April 2026
By using Settle.ie you agree to the terms below. They're written in plain English and kept short on purpose.
What Settle.ie is, and isn't
Settle.ie is an independent guide site for people moving to Ireland. The content is general information, not personalised advice. Specifically, nothing on this site is:
- Legal or immigration advice
- Tax or financial advice
- Medical advice
- An offer of any product or service we don't directly provide
Irish immigration, tax, and benefit rules change. Always verify with the official source (e.g. irishimmigration.ie, revenue.ie, citizensinformation.ie) before acting on anything you read here. If a date, fee, or rule on a guide is wrong, email us at editor@settle.ie and we'll fix it.
Affiliate links and how we're funded
Some links to commercial providers on Settle.ie are affiliate links — if you sign up through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This funds the site so we can keep all guides free and not gate anything behind a paywall. We only recommend providers we'd be comfortable recommending to a friend, and we never charge readers. Full disclosure on our funding page.
The Ireland Moving Checklist and other downloads
Free PDFs and resources on Settle.ie are provided as-is for personal use. You're welcome to share the download link, but please don't repackage or resell the content.
Newsletter and email
If you subscribe, you'll receive the resource you signed up for plus occasional emails about new guides, updates to existing guides, and Ireland-relevant news. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe — when you click it, we remove you from the list immediately.
Intellectual property
Settle.ie text, layout, and original images are © Settle.ie. You can quote passages with credit and a link back. Don't republish whole guides without permission. Embedded third-party logos and imagery belong to their respective owners.
User-submitted content
If you email us a correction, suggestion, or testimonial, we may incorporate it into the site or future communications. Tell us in the email if you'd prefer not to be quoted.
Limitation of liability
Settle.ie and its operators are not liable for any loss, damage, or cost arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site, including any consequences of decisions you make based on information here. The site is provided on an "as is" basis with no warranties expressed or implied.
Third-party sites
We link to a lot of external sites — government departments, providers, news outlets, comparison tools. We're not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites. Use them at your own discretion.
Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we'll bump the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes counts as acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
